Holiday Toy Drive

In 2012, Stumpman and Stumpman Racing joined Michelle Chunn in her annual campaign to help make the holidays a little brighter and more comfortable for local hospitalized children who are fighting cancer. Michelle and her family know first hand how tough a hospital stay can be for a young child fighting cancer. Her son, Cole, was diagnosed with cancer in May 2009 at the age of 3 and was treated at the Sutter Children's Center in Sacramento. (See below for more on Cole and his fight with cancer, at his page from Caringbride.org included below.)

In honor of Cole, Michelle began an annual holiday drive, collecting toys, PJs, socks, books and anything else that might make a hospital stay brighter and more comfortable for kids (newborn to 18), and delivering the gifts to Sutter Children's Center in Sacramento. The Center uses the toys and other donations in several ways: to provide parents of hospitalized kids gifts to give their kids during their hospital stay, to help Santa in his Christmas day delivery of gifts to hospitalized kids, and to provide gifts to hospitalized kids throughout the year on their birthdays, other occasions and on days when they most need to smile.

We helped Michele in her drive in 2012 and look forward to continuing to help her reach her goal to be able to deliver gifts to the pediatric ward of other local hospitals in addition to Sutter Children's Center.
