Ron Chunn

Meet Team Stumpman Member Ron Chunn

Team Stumpman Member Ron Chunn began RC racing in 1985 with a Team Associated RC10, thanks to an introduction into the RC world by friends Matt and Mark Frances (Matt went on to be a World Champion).

Ron raced a couple of times a week just about everywhere (and as far away as Virginia and Maryland), and won the NorCal Off Road Challenge 2 years in a row.

In 1994, Ron got into NASCAR racing, and currently races NASCAR Late Models, finishing 3rd in the 2012 Championships.

Ron's son and teammate Raysen Chunn, got Ron back into RC racing.

"It's a great sport to do with your kids, to watch him get faster every time he is on the track is almost as much fun as driving!!"

Ron is also inspired by his son Cole (a young cancer survivor and the inspiration for our Holiday Toy Drive), and races to raise awareness of childhood cancer.

"Cole will be the next one RC racing. He is driving cars and improving his skills, soon to be on the driver's stand."

Ron, a shop forman at a local auto repair shop, joined Team Stumpman "because we race hard and help others, but we are also trying to promote the hobby. We are a team, and as a team we are going to do great things ~ not only win races, but also give back to the public and help others…whether we are racing or even off the track. If you see a Team Stumpman member and you need help, just ask and anyone of us will help you if we can."

Team Stumpman embraces "Ron's RC Rules":

RC Rule #1: Have Fun

RC Rule #2: Help Others

RC Rule #3: See Rules 1 & 2
